"Police on the scene, you know what I mean. They passed me up confronted all the dope fiends." (Ice Ice Baby, Vanilla Ice)

Like other professions, there will always an interesting story on Police profession. Another film created based on police story is Brooklyn's Finest that directed by Antoine Fuqua.

In this film, we will follow the representation of police in three different characters who have different background each other. Although have different backgrounds, but they have much similarity in common: they all are New York police officer, they are human beings who have hopes, anxieties, fears, and anger.
In a word: emotion. All three stories are not related but all three met several times in several scenes.
Dugan Eddie (Richard Gere)
Senior police officer who always find every way safely and carefully. He don't want to risk anything. Not surprisingly, his colleagues, including new police officers consider him as a loser and a coward. Her life was lonely, his wife divorced him and his girlfriend is a whore. The problem is, seven days again is a big moment in his life: his retirement after working 22 years! Would he still be considered useless?

Clarence "Tango" Butler (Don Cheadle)
A cop who in disguise but was bored with it. He feels his life is lost, even his wife divorced him. He is very close to the Casanova Philips (Wesley Snipes, his first appearance after five years) to help him when he was undercover at the prison. What he must to do, if he assigned to spy on his friend, for the sake of a few people's career?

Salvatore "Sal" Procida (Ethan Hawke)
A anti-drug cop which urged the need to move house, but was unable to pay in advance. Why? His wife is ill because her poor sanitation, and she was pregnant with twins, while they already have plenty sons and daughters. Sal was a devout Catholic (back filled with religious symbols, as well as statues, crosses, cross necklaces, and more) were in dilemma situation between adherence to religious norms or economic pressure? At confession, he cried and said that he did not need forgiveness, but God's help. Then there was this: before killing drug dealers and robbers, he always prayed.

All three main actors playing a very good act on this film. And the story also contains political and social criticism, especially about the corrupt police. For example, Eddie was asked to connect the death of a child due to negligence of a new policeman with drugs? Or there are some police characters so annoying that we wanted to punch their faces. Even though she was a woman?

The film is so close to reality because there disyut: Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. Included in Brownsville, Housing Van Dyke, Rego Park, and housing Louis Pink.

Another big role is the screenwriter, Michael Martin, who was close to the City of New York, and even studied film at Brooklyn College. Minor details of the noise, drugs, etc. - in slums that became its own breath and form mental landscape of a city that ranked first in the worst chaos and crime city in the United States.
