TOKYO! (2008)

Where do I begin... This is an anthology film containing three segments written by three non-Japanese directors, all of which were filmed in Tokyo, Japan.



Segment 1: Interior Design
It tells the story of a young couple Hiroko and Akira. Who arrive in Tokyo with very little funds. From here on the short film really grabs you and makes you think. You have to watch this and understand it for yourself, becuase its very hard to explain.

Segment 1: gets 7/10 stars

Segment 2: Merde
This short film tells the story of Merde. A name given to an unkempt, spewing subterranean creature of the Tokyo sewers. We dont know who he is, or why he does what he does. The ending of this segment will leave you thinking and wanting more, plus the actor that plays Merde is really terrifying and weird looking.

Segment 2: gets 8/10 stars

Segment 3: Shaking Tokyo
It tells the story of a man who has not left his apartment in a decade and does not socialize at all. From here the man falls in love and leaves his house, only to find the truth of what really is happening around him and to the people.

Segment 3: gets 8.5/10 stars


All three short films are brilliant, If you are watching this movie for the first time be prepared to ask questions after it. Its a well made movie and very entertaining as it makes you think alot. I really recommend it.
