The film is based on the early life of Temüjin, who later came to be known as Genghis Khan. Now I have to say for being a Russian movie, filmed in Kazakhstan and having Russian Subtitles with English Dubs. This movie was not bad. Visually its a great movie but story wise not so much. Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano plays Temujin, he did a good job but could of done better. This movie was a one timer for me. Supposedly this is the first of a trilogy of films based on the life of Genghis Khan.
Mongol gets 8/10 stars
