Watching a silent film is very difficult. But this movie wasn't. It had good intense music to go along with it. Lon Chaney in the title role as the masked and facially deformed Phantom who haunts the Paris Opera House. The make-up was one of the best for its time. The make-up was so frightening it wasn't revealed until the film premiered. The reveal of the Phantom has become the most recognized scene in movie history. This movie is very hard to find and you really have to search for it, I was lucky enough to watch it online and it was a good quality.
The Phantom of the Opera gets 9/10 stars
