CITIZEN KANE (1941)

Everyone has seen this film, if you have not your missing out. This film had everything that a film maker could dream of. Orson Welles Directed, Produced, Wrote and starred in this film.

The story examines the life and legacy of Charles Foster Kane, played by Welles, a character based on William Randolph Hearst and some of Orson Welles' own life. The movie has tremendous Cinematography, dealing with the deep focus shots. The deep focus shots were done so well its the reason this movie was good. The low angle shots in the floor were very well executed and nothing like that has been seen in film making. One scene which sticks out is near the end, there is a mirror shot, its so beautifully done that it makes the movie and gives the character emotion.

The storytelling techniques in the movie were also fantastic. The movie is told in flashbacks from different points of view. Some of them dealing with Kane throughout his years. The Make up played a big part also, as we see Kane go through different ages in the film. The special effects were amazing, from the crane shots to the curtain wipes. Everything fit right in with this film.

This movie is a fantastic MUST SEE for everyone. I really recommend it, you can watch it over and over again and find new ways for film making. This film is just that, the GREATEST of ALL TIME for many years and decades to come.

Citizen Kane gets 10/10 stars
