Very good movie, I was happy in was nominated for an award. It explores the interrelated themes of close and distant family ties, the power and speed of gossip, and poverty in the Ozarks as they are impacted by the underworld of illegal meth labs. The acting was surprisingly good. Jennifer Lawrence did a great job, as did John Hawkes. I recommend this movie if you have not seen it.
Winter's Bone gets 9/10 stars
