Released in the U.S. and India under the title the Sorcerer's stone, instead of Philosopher's Stone. It really didn't make a difference at all. We are introduced to Harry Potter who is an orphaned boy brought up by his Aunt and Uncle after the Dark Lord tried to kill him, he succeeded in killing his parents but not Harry. We find out through Hagrid that Harry is actually a wizard. Harry enters the school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he makes new friends in Hermione and Ron. I enjoyed this movie very much it introduced us to what we were in store for. The story and characters are just like the book, but in a different way. We do see Voldermort in the end, as we the audience find out that the Dark Lord is out to get harry Potter.This is a very well made film, Directed by Chris Columbus who also directed movies such as Home Alone and Home Alone 2. You will fall in love with all of the characters from the start. Its a movie for kids and they will love it.
